I live in directly next to the proposed site (my windows face the baseball diamonds currently there). I support more housing in the area, but I do not support changing the zoning to allow for a six storey building as this does not really go with the neighborhood when none of the nearby buildings are that tall. I am also concerned about how the impacts of construction on those directly next to the construction site and with this proposed to be a larger building how long that construction will take.

I always take my kids out to the green field and we all love it. Why do you want to take that away. I don't think you know or see the amount of people who come here to play baseball and cricket. Each diamond and feild is constantly preoccupied by people playing. It's a beautiful scene to see. Safe, family environment.

This is basically a useless forum as the city has proven over and over they couldn’t care less about what the constituents actually want but I’ll share my thoughts anyway. Stop taking away the green space in these neighborhoods. We do not need more condensed housing to cram in more people and cars. The area is condensed enough for the green space and services.

I live half a block from the proposed site. I would like more specifics on what you are trying to build. Seniors housing and market housing are not equal to me and my family. Seniors housing is something Blue Quill needs. We already have market, first choice, and subsidized low income. The proposal is wild considering that those two types of housing bring in completely different crowds of people.

It really depends what is going to be built here. A seniors home or affordable housing. If it's affordable housing then it's going to he a proplem. We're already having issues with homeless individuals walking by the area to the 7-11. They already have caused some problems in the Townhomes. Having affordable housing means we'll have more of these issues. On top of all that, the area will be congested. Especially that LRT on 111 street. It'll be one hell of a deadlock.

I live just beside the proposed development site. And I support the City's rezoning plan. I would like to add a few points. 1. The place selected for development is not used for any purpose other than going to the Gravel Baseball diamond from Saddleback Road. There is a sidewalk beside this site which can be used to go to the baseball diamond from Saddleback Road. This portion of land is not required for any other purposes right now. 2. As the site is very close to the LRT, Transit Center and shopping area (it is literally within walking distance), a densely populated housing facility will be beneficial for the present and future residents and businesses.  3. My everyday commute to work from my door to the office desk Downtown takes 31-33 minutes (walk to LRT and then 20 minutes Train ride) What can be more easily accessible area than this place to live and work? 4. The fear of traffic congestion can be dealt with in many other ways. And at present, the road remains clear and except on the Oilers game day, more than 10 vehicles cannot be seen at any time (including rush hours). 5. Being a good commute-friendly area and lush green on both sides, close to two elementary schools (3-4 minutes walking each way), I propose to the city to amend the proposed 6 storey building to add a few more stories. With the future prediction of 2 million Edmontonians, a 6-storey building will not be a sustainable option. My prediction is that in 10-15 years, the City will need to rezone it to allow a highrise here and in many other sites. So, rezoning now to construct highrises now will save Taxpayers money and the cost of the city in future. 6. There is an influx of people coming to Edmonton from the Coastal areas of Canada. This is termed as one of the highest liveable cities in the World. A shortage of housing will eventually increase the price and rent of the homes, which will eventually discourage the new people from coming here. The sudden surge of incoming people in an area is once in a lifetime opportunity. If we let this pass without getting the privileges it brings, we do not know when this influx will happen again!! Act fast, and let rezoning and development be faster. Thank you

I am excited for this project. I hope it brings more commercial spaces to the strip mall. I think that this is a great neighbourhood to raise a family and limits sprawl. I do hope that there are upgrades to rain water collection to prevent flooding of the area as the pipes in this area are quite old and may not support the added load.

Saddleback road already experience significant traffic delays during the morning commute due to the LRT line, with traffic backing up as far as 112 street. This happened prior to the existing EPCOR construction in the area. Adding a 6-story apartment building to the area, without any sort of adjustment to traffic signaling will lead to significant traffic delays for existing residents.  Additionally, there is an area of the park, south of the newer townhomes, that was disturbed by Landmark during the construction process and never truly restored. The lack of any sort of City enforced maintenance period for construction has led to the builders washing their hands of the problems that they cause and the City has not addressed the issue. Infill developments, whether townhomes or apartments, should be held to the same standards as greenfield developments. I think overall affordable housing, in close proximity to schools and transit is a step in the right direction for city planning. I feel that a 3-4 story building would fit better with the existing neighborhood and minimize congestion during AM peak hours. Regardless of the final decision, the City will need to address the backup of traffic on saddleback road, during the AM peak hours and institute restoration requirements, attached to the Builder, for damage caused to the existing green space and roadways/sidewalks

I think this is generally a positive move, though there are a few concerns.  The main positive I see is that the businesses across the street should benefit quite a bit from the large complex being so close. Hopefully the local restaurants would have an easier time staying afloat. However, the baseball diamond this would replace is definitely the best in the full greenspace, so hopefully one of the baseball diamonds could be refurbished in the western part of the greenspace. These see much lower use, but it would be a shame to lose the high-quality baseball diamond entirely. It does not look like this lot will impact the main (best) soccer field, as it does not appear to extend past where the condos currently do. I also wonder how this will impact the capacity of the nearby schools - there are larger buildings near Century Park, but many of those are not necessarily family focused and are somewhat closer to transit. It needs to be certain that nearby schools have the capacity to accept the student increase from such a large development.

Putting multi-level (up to 6 stories) housing complex in such small high density space between the current townhouses and 3-storey apartment complex is disruptive to the green space / recreational space of the neighbourhood.  The soccer field and baseball diamond is always busy here.  Building a high density here is not suitable.  Townhouses or apartments only up to 3-storeys would be more appropriate.

I think that this is a great location for affordable housing. Easy walking distance to the LRT and grocery stores. I support more housing here, as the nearby park is a great place for kids and families to spend time. I feel that adding more rental units/affordable housing will not cause any significant changes to the neighborhood, as there are already at least 600 rental units very close to Blue Quill Park.

Disappointed to lose the gravel baseball diamond, hopefully that can be relocated.
