A <a href="https://www.edmonton.ca/transportation/traffic_safety/vision-zero-street-labs?utm_source=virtualaddress&utm_campaign=streetlabs">Vision Zero Street Lab</a>, which uses adaptable traffic calming measures to increase street safety, is being explored in Callingwood North!<h4 dir="ltr"> </h4><h4 dir="ltr">Share Your Experiences </h4>We want to hear perspectives from people who use all modes of transportation to get around the community. Residents play an ADVISORY role in this project, meaning the City will be collecting their lived experience and insight into what the street safety issues are in the neighbourhood. Callingwood North Street Lab

One major component of this necessary action is transportation and urban planning, which together have been identified as one of three major areas for GHG reductions.Climate resilience is the ability to adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change and climate-related events.<ul><li aria-level="1" dir="ltr">Adaptation means making adjustments to social, economic and environmental practices to reduce vulnerabilities to climate change.</li><li aria-level="1" dir="ltr">Mitigation involves using new strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.</li></ul>Together, adaptation and mitigation action enable sustainable development and improved well-being in the face of a changing climate.The <a href="https://engaged.edmonton.ca/43590/widgets/182644/documents/133625" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Climate Resilience Planning and Development Action Plan</a> (the Action Plan) identifies 15 actions the City can take to include climate adaptation and mitigation in the City&rsquo;s planning and development processes. These actions will be vital to advancing the City&rsquo;s ongoing work to address climate change as outlined in<a href="https://www.edmonton.ca/sites/default/files/public-files/assets/Climate_Resilient_Edmonton.pdf?cb=1698789347" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"> Climate Resilient Edmonton: Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan</a> and <a href="https://www.edmonton.ca/sites/default/files/public-files/assets/PDF/EnergyTransitionStrategy2021-04-20.pdf?cb=1698788471" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Edmonton&rsquo;s Community Energy Transition Strategy</a>.The plan&rsquo;s 15 Actions are centered around four outcomes:<ul><li aria-level="1" dir="ltr">Resilient Neighbourhoods</li><li aria-level="1" dir="ltr">Resilient Site &amp; Landscaping Design</li><li aria-level="1" dir="ltr">Resilient Buildings</li><li aria-level="1" dir="ltr">Resilient City Processes</li></ul>The draft actions were developed through background research, internal reviews with Administration, and two targeted stakeholder engagement sessions in April 2024 with stakeholders. District Plan Specific Survey
