Internal Pathway Design
about 3 years agoCLOSED: This brainstormer has concluded.Better connections, safer circulation, and improved accessibility were all important factors that went into the design of the project. Tell us what you think about the Internal Pathway design:
- What do you like about the design?
- Is there anything missing?
- What changes would you suggest to improve the design?
Micheover 3 years agoIf a 4 m path is going in at the western end of the park, is there an option to remove a part of the road?
0 comment1Trevor Haydenover 3 years agoI support the external pathway system to claim more space for people.
0 comment2LMAover 3 years agoDon't overdevelop this lovely park. The internal path design is preferable. Leave the outer unpaved trails and the lake alone.
0 comment9Amardeepover 3 years agoAdd good lighting system ,add garbage bins, mostly supporter of make it more greener but not in the favour to add any more trails or paths.
Its better if the city will add good lighting in the park ..I have another idea if the city wants to make this park more beautiful ..add more lamppost in the park like these which one u can hang beautiful hanging flower baskets too...also take care the cleanliness of the park,if its possible just add some more garbage bins too also improve the signage of the whole park, plzz add the signs in the whole park so the people they know in which directions they are going, and in the end most important again really eager to see more vegetation in the whole park especially Canopy trees 🌳 ,and also trees with flowers. And just if u are going to add more trails and paths don't know how many trees will cut down..I think the park has already so much paved paths and trails too..Don't think there more needs to add..
1 comment1Carlitoover 3 years agoI'd like to see a fly fishing golf course like the one Orvis has in Bend Oregon. See the description for a link.

A Millerover 3 years agoThe MUP should be paved, giving a safe, easily identified route for all users both internally and externally around the park perimeter.
1 comment2Sarahabout 3 years agoSwimmable Lake, keep woodchip/dirt path by the river unpaved
A swimmable Lake would be an excellent resource for Edmontonians, and keep people in the city supporting our local economy during the summer months. Keeping the woodchip/gravel/dirt path by the river unpaved supports joint protection for local long distance runners. Increasing accessibility is important, but please also keep some natural trails in the park.
0 comment2JCWover 3 years agoOption B is safer.
Option B has fewer road crossings, which would put runners and cyclists in less conflict with cars. I'd expand the road slightly and add the path to the road, though, with a barrier to keep it separate from cars.
1 comment0Debbyover 3 years agoLove a better path around the lake, a separate path along the road for walkers, and please bring in music!!!
I agree with a better path around the lake, having a separate path along the road for walkers (separate from bikers and bladers). And strongly feel we need more music in a park setting, need to use the amphitheater more, could also have a mini amphitheater in the park for locals to play, weeknights, weekends. Win win for artists, park users. There is not enough music in this city and this park offers a perfect setting!!
0 comment1some.guyover 3 years agoI think the city should leave it as it is. There's the old expression "don't fix it if it isn't broken" why do you needlessly spend money
