We acknowledge the traditional land on which we reside, is in Treaty Six Territory. We would like to thank the diverse Indigenous Peoples whose ancestors’ footsteps have marked this territory for centuries, such as nêhiyaw (Cree), Dené, Anishinaabe (Saulteaux), Nakota Isga (Nakota Sioux), and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) peoples. We also acknowledge this as the Métis’ homeland and the home of one of the largest communities of Inuit south of the 60th parallel. Privacy policy
- The City of Edmonton recognizes that the privacy and confidentiality of a person's personal information is important. All personal information is managed according to the Alberta Access to Information Act (ATIA) and the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) . This means that:
1. 01 You will be informed, at the point of collection, that your personal information is being collected and the purpose for which it is being collected;
1. 02 You have a right of access to your information;
1. 03 You have control over how the City obtains, uses, and discloses your personal information;
1. 04 All uses of information are subject to you not having refused or withdrawn consent, unless disclosure is made for legal purposes.
2. Even if you do nothing more during your visit than browse through the web site, read pages, or download information, please be aware that the City automatically gathers and stores certain information about your visit. This information does not identify you personally. The City collects and stores only the following information about your visit:
2. 01 The Internet domain and Internet Protocol (IP) address from which you access the City's web site;
2. 02 The type of browser and operating system used to access the City's site;
2. 03 The date and time you access the City's site;
2. 04 The pages you visit on the City's site; and
2. 05 If you are linked to the City of Edmonton website from another website, the address of that website.
The City uses this information to help us make our site more useful to visitors, to learn about the number of visitors to our site and the types of technology our visitors use. The City does not track or record information about individuals and their visits.
3. The City of Edmonton website may contain links to other sites. The City is not responsible for the content and privacy practices of other websites and the City encourages you to examine the privacy policy and disclaimer of each site and make your own decisions regarding the disclosure of your personal information to that site.
4. The City of Edmonton uses electronic "cookies. " A cookie is a small amount of data that is transferred to your browser by a web server. It cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. A session ID, along with time and date and other information may be placed in the cookie. This information is used to provide the user with an enriched experience while using the City's website. Once the user leaves the City's website, the session is considered done and the cookie expires. The City of Edmonton does not build profiles of users through the use of cookies and does not attempt to track individual users through the use of cookies. 5. If you choose to provide the City with personal information in an e-mail or by filling out an electronic form and submit it to the City through our website, the City will use that information to respond to your message and to assist us to provide you the requested information or service.
6. E-mail messages are subject to the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA). The personal information you share with the City of Edmonton is provided only to those areas that are required to carry out the business that relates to you. All e-mail messages sent or received are the property of the City of Edmonton and may be accessed by department heads or their delegates without further consent of the author. All e-mail messages required to be retained by law will be printed and maintained through a records management process.
7. Security measures are implemented in order that web services remain available to all users. The City of Edmonton computer system employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify attempts to tamper with information, or to otherwise cause damage.
8. Collection is authorized under section 4 (c) of the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) and is managed and protected in accordance with the Act. The City intends to input the information into an automated system to generate content or make decisions, recommendations or predictions in accordance with the City of Edmonton Generative AI Standard.

Participation in online discussion groups, comments & other communications
You may post or submit comments, suggestions, ideas, questions, or other information (“Material”) on the Site, provided the Material is not prohibited. Material that is prohibited by these Terms of Use includes but is not limited to the following:
- Illegal/criminal activity (criminal or civil violations of applicable laws, regulations, bylaws, policies, ministerial orders, or rules, including but not limited to theft or infringement of copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, or other types of intellectual property; fraud; forgery, theft or misappropriation of funds, credit cards, or personal information; defamation; or threats of physical harm or harassment);

If you post or submit any Material, you grant The City an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, display, and sub-license such use of such content or material world-wide. You fully and irrevocably waive all moral rights to such Material. If you repeatedly submit or post prohibited Material, The City reserves the right to prohibit or block you from further activity on the Site.
You are responsible for safeguarding your own password and ensuring any information you supply is accurate. The City is not liable for any losses, damages, fines, costs, injuries or claims resulting from your failure to properly safeguard your password or supplying inaccurate information.
Limitation of liability, disclaimer of warranties and conditions
The Contents and any services are provided in good faith on an "as is" basis and were current at the time of posting for use on the Site. The City and its third party provider who hosts/develops the Site are not required to provide regular or any updates to the Contents or format of the Site.
The City and its third party provider who hosts/develops the Site disclaim all warranties or conditions, express or implied, in respect of the Contents and any services considered by these Terms of Use, including without limitation, implied warranties and conditions of merchantability and fitness for any particular purpose, non-infringement or accuracy. This disclaimer applies to the fullest possible extent in jurisdictions that limit the exclusion of implied warranties.
The City and its third party provider who hosts/develops the Site are not responsible for any liability of any kind for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or other losses, damages, fines, costs, injuries or claims resulting from the use, misuse or misinterpretation of any Content or services provided by this Site.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless The City and its third party provider who hosts/develops the Site and their respective officials, officers, employees and authorized representatives, as applicable, from and against any liability, loss injury (including injuries resulting in death), demand, action, cost, expense, or claim of any kind, including but not limited to lawyer's fees, relating in any way to your use of the Contents or any services provided by this Site.
