Alley Renewal is coming to Kingsway Business Improvement Area (BIA)

Kingsway BIA* will see improvements in its aging alleys as part of the City of Edmonton’s Alley Renewal program. Planning for this renewal has just begun.

Alley Renewal includes:

  • Locating or relocating underground utilities
  • Reconstructing your alley with a hard surface
  • Improving surface drainage where possible
  • Upgrading existing alley lighting to LED
  • Pruning or removing trees/shrubs as necessary ahead of construction
  • Exploring opportunities for additional improvements if possible

*A Business Improvement Area (BIA) is a specific geographic area of the city in which businesses pool resources and work together, through a formal association, to enhance the economic development of their area.


Renewal is coming to 114 Avenue

114 Avenue (from 119 Street to west of 120 Street) has been identified for renewal as part of the City of Edmonton’s Neighbourhood Renewal program. Planning for this renewal has just begun.

114 Avenue Renewal includes:

  • Rehabilitating the road
  • Replacing existing street lights
  • Replacing curb and gutter
  • Adding missing sidewalk and shared pathway links
  • Exploring other opportunities to improve how people walk, bike and drive

Provide your feedback

These engagement activities aim to gather your input on how you use the alleys in the Kingsway Business Improvement Area, as well as, how you use 114 Avenue (from 119 Street to west of 120 Street). This includes any challenges you experience such as drainage, traffic safety or accessibility concerns, and your thoughts on improvements for walking, biking and rolling.

The feedback received will be considered alongside technical and funding requirements, alignment with City policies and programs, to inform the planning and construction.
