Mill Woods is a vibrant community and needs these kinds of development. However, the streets also need to be updated to accommodate the increased traffic. Busy one-lane each way streets are asphyxiating due to the heavy traffic, specially during peak hours.

Build it. More density, less sprawl. Good access to public transit.

No, if I wanted to live in downtown edmonton, I would move there. Millwoods has a small town feel, is open, and already at capacity for residence. Build new neighborhoods on undeveloped land instead changing everything we enjoyed about millwoods when we decided to move here. Home owners shouldn't have to think about selling/moving, because you want to cram 60,000 more people into our home community. I do not approve of any of it. Crime will rise, and you will ruin our family community and drive out the middle class, and ruin the esthetic of our area.

Sounds like a great improvement to the development and general area. Edmonton has invested heavily into the area with the LRT why wouldn't we want to maximize the return on investment? More units for people to live in, more community members to help keep the MW town center busy and active, more taxes coming back into the city. MW is a fantastic area extremely well positioned for growth and more people should have the opportunity to live there and help shape its future. The scale of the building or changes are not drastically different than anything else nearby so I can't see how this is anything but a positive. I look forward to the development coming together and I hope it spurs on more to come along with the benefits of a vibrant core for the entire Milwoods area.

Great idea to increase population density near transit and commercial facilities. The extra height in this location won't affect neighbours. This may reduce overall construction costs and keep the housing more affordable.

If the extra setback space is used effectively, it could add to the overall functionality; it should not just create dead space.

Millwoods Town Center needs a Grocery store ( Not a Sobeys ) And a Hotel Conference center

Good idea! Maybe the Mall will pick up some good clients.

I hope this project moves forward as is. I know many people will comment about the negative aspects of taller buildings....however, we need more density in Mill Woods and the town centre being the central area, along with the declining usage of the mall, this would hopefully spur some much needed life into this very important yet underutilized district. There's no need to have acres upon acres of empty parking lots. The planned location next to the highly utilized LRT (those trains look very full most trips) from my personal observations, will align with the need for high density housing along transit corridors.

The original plan for 18 stories was excessive and a lot for people to accept. Now you want to increase that to 22 stories for eacb building, that makes it beyond reasonable.
This Millwods household is voting no.

Worried about traffic congestion. Plus Millwoods is already high density population. Grey Nun's Hospital will not be able to accommodate the extra strain of more people. Traffic is extremely heavy in this area. High crime will follow. Are you hiring more police for this area??

I think this is a great idea. We need increased population density to allow small business to stay viable. Only thing I would love to see is ground level being kept as commercial to encourage small businesses which creates positive community.

Just make sure that there is plenty of under ground parking . parts of the parking areas are already full because of the LRT and bus terminals an additional 44 stories of of apartments require a lot of parking spaces.

I'm all in. It's about time.

In reading the feedback it appears many assume it is the city doing the building. The city is not doing the building. This is a well established private company wanting to build on what is now a lot of vacant land.

This feels like we are being asked for input without being provided adequate information. I would like to see the city publish an impact report on what this would mean to our traffic, power and sewer infrastructures before considering any increased density in Millwoods. The gem of "Vehicular access to MWTC Phase 1 is limited to the north-south roadway access. Parking for residents and visitors will be structured and provided internal to the development" gives more concern than it removes.

It would also be beneficial to see if this is going to be a rental building or a condominium. I am concerned that if it is a rental project that it will fall to the same conditions we see in every major north American city that has allowed massive tenements. In the early 80s the city had the wisdom to promote condominiums so that residents have an opportunity to own. I would like to see that done again.

I think it’s important that development prioritized accessible and affordable housing. Mill woods is not an upscale community, people need homes they can afford and asap.
