The City of Edmonton is working on improving the Parkallen Corner Store, a long-standing commercial hub located along the service road, next to 111 Street, between 65 and 68 Avenue. This project is part of the Corner Store Program, which builds streetscape improvements around neighbourhood commercial areas to enhance community connection and the economic viability of local businesses.
What’s included in the project?
- Improvements to sidewalks, landscaping and street furniture (e.g., benches, bike racks, waste bins)
- Better lighting and accessibility upgrades
- Enhancements to crosswalks
- Opportunities to share community information and connect with neighbours
What’s NOT included in the project?
- Major changes to private commercial properties
- Additional parking
- Expansion of the retail spaces themselves
- Major changes to nearby roadways. This includes 111 Street and 65 Avenue
