Ramsay Heights

Engagement has concluded

Update: June 8, 2022

Following the two year rubber speed hump pilot and recent public engagement, the City is moving forward with the installation of ten asphalt speed humps in the Ramsay Heights neighbourhood. Please read the What We Heard/What We Decided report to learn more.

Installation of the asphalt speed humps and removal of the rubber speed humps is scheduled for June 10 and 11. A construction notice was delivered May 30th to households directly impacted along Whitemud Road, Ramsay Road and Ramsay Crescent.

Residents in Ramsay Heights have expressed concerns to the City about speeding along Whitemud Road, Ramsay Road and Ramsay Crescent.

To increase safety and address community concerns around speeding and poor driver behaviour, the City implemented a variety of improvements, including installation of nine rubber speed humps. Blading to bare pavement left most of the rubber speed humps damaged by snow plowing equipment, and, now that the weather is warmer, the rubber speed humps will be replaced with a permanent asphalt solution.

The City is focused on learning about the community's experience with the rubber speed humps and understanding community context as the permanent installation is scheduled and completed.
