Secord South Park Development

Engagement has concluded

***The concept design discussion has concluded and a What We Heard Report will be made available here when completed.  The project team will conduct further public engagement in Spring 2022. ***

City-hosted in-person public engagement events and information sessions continue to be suspended until further notice. This page is to help you find out information and tell us what you think, instead of having an in-person meeting. Please review the information on this page and share your thoughts in the survey listed below before the end of the day on November 15, 2021.

The City of Edmonton is developing a Community Park in the Secord neighbourhood, located at Secord Drive NW and 93 Ave NW. The site is approximately 2.03 ha (5.02 acres) in size and will include a catholic (Edmonton Catholic School District) elementary and junior high school. The scope of this project is to provide base-level park infrastructure such as sports fields and landscaping, including tree planting. The park is tentatively scheduled for development in 2023, subject to funding.

Figure 1: Current project phase breakdown

The project is currently in the Concept phase. The City is looking for feedback on the draft concept plan for the park site, and to identify the types of park amenities that will be a priority for future, partner-led development. While these types of enhanced amenities will not be constructed as part of this project, input will result in a concept plan that confirms the proposed infrastructure can be accommodated.

Please review the information on this page, including the draft concept plan. Your feedback from the survey results will be used to help inform the project team’s final design options for Secord South Park. The final designs will be open for additional public feedback, expected to occur in early 2022.
