Feedback from Bonnie Moon

There is only one comment on this section of the site which is from the Community League. I believe that the issue of these transportation considerations is addressed by many people on the other tab which provides feedback on the application itself and I therefore believe that the comments on that other tab should be considered as applicable to this subject matter. In other words, the dirth of comments here cannot be taken as either a sign of support or a sign of apathy.

I concur with the comments of the Community League that transportation steps would be entirely unnecessary if appropriate infill was done on this site and the large infill proposed by Westrich was not at this location.

The removal of vehicle access on 118 street is neutral. These removals would be done anyway if appropriate sized infill was done on those lots. For example, the two skinnies that were built recently do not have front driveways. Westrich should not get points for something that is neutral.

Additional concrete on 119 street is not a positive improvement for the area. Simply put, concrete is not better than grass and trees.

The City has no data on the traffic effects that will be generated by the large highrise under construction to the north of the Westrich site. There is no data, because at this time the real world effects of the vehicles from and to that large highrise cannot be known.

With respect, you are asking for the impossible. In light of the uncertainty of the effect of the large highrise, I have no way of intelligently commenting on whether or not the stop signs, yield sign and crosswalks are adequate enough to address the clear increase in danger to pedestrians that the Westrich building will create.

I can say that the negative impact I see is that three stop signs, a yield sign and two crosswalks may not be adequate and it is not worth the risk of harm to assume that they will be.
