Neighbourhood residents have shared concerns of parking congestion, speeding and narrowed roadways due to a high volume of parked cars.

A residential parking program was determined to not be the best approach to address community concerns about traffic safety. Safety is the City’s priority. The City is committed to improve safety while maintaining equitable access to the River Valley. 

Traffic calming measures have been identified by City of Edmonton safe mobility engineers. The plan has been developed with proven measures to encourage safer speeds, reduce traffic and reduce parking adjacent to crossing locations. The City will determine if the plan should be installed to address concerns after taking public feedback into consideration.
