Corporate Accessibility Plan

Consultation has concluded

Last year, City Council approved the Accessibility for People with Disabilities - Policy C602. The City is now working to develop an Action Plan (Corporate Accessibility Plan) to support carrying out the policy. Tackling the actions will take some time. The proposed Plan will be in effect from 2021 to 2024. Over those three years we will provide updates on our progress.

In spring 2020, we asked people with disabilities, and their caregivers, questions about accessibility in the City. City working committees used this feedback to develop the Accessibility Actions that we are now sharing with you.

As you review the Actions, tell us what you like, what could be better, and anything we missed. For some Actions, we want to know how much you think they will impact people with disabilities. For others, we want to get your feedback. Click on the icons below OR keep scrolling to the get to the Actions. The Actions have been categorized to make it easier. You can provide feedback until 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 9th.

We will use this feedback to help finalize the Accessibility Plan. That Plan will be presented to the City Manager for approval in 2021.

We are also interested in hearing from you if you have applied for a job with the City of Edmonton as a person with a disability. There is a survey that you can complete below.

Other formats of the information on this page are available upon request (e.g. Braille, telephone, etc.). Contact the project manager at barrierfreeyeg@edmonton.ca if you need help.
