Our Project
The Centennial Plaza Redevelopment project is currently in the preliminary design phase and includes the redevelopment of:
- Centennial Plaza,
- Post Office Clock Tower Plaza,
- stair and elevator pavilions on the southeast and southwest corners of the plaza,
- Judy Padua Way,
- Milner Parkade Entrance ramp canopy and associated parkade and stair entrances, and
- the removal of the outdoor amphitheatre.

ROLE OF THE PUBLIC
This is a nice design. I would suggest that some of the benches should have armrests, as many seniors have trouble getting up from a bench without something to grab/push themselves with; also, the benches shouldn't be too low for them, too. Benches could be different heights, like lower in the children's area. Seasonal flower beds/trees would also be lovely.
1. Opportunity for library to spill out into the plaza (i.e. outdoor reading area, seating for coffee shop associated with library) 2. More weather protected seating areas with sun exposure so that its a comfortable place to people watch during the winter. Its a cold space now and I'm not seeing the warming elements I'd expect in Edmonton - what about places for fires? heating elements? 3. The space doesn't provide a lot of variety - what about 'seating in a circle' or a space for performances (surrounded by seating) 4. How can this space accommodate a food truck?
